Relaunch

Hatfields had an exciting start to 2019 with work commencing in January on a Brand NEW Store Front, with the building works completed in August 2019. With this poignant redevelopment, Hatfields also took the opportunity to update their corporate logo and set about transforming it with an updated style and fresh new look.

Hatfields believe that customers are the heart of their business and were proud they were able to remain open for business, 7 days a week, during the entirety of the building phase. Hatfields duly note the support of their customers and the local community during the redevelopment of the store.

During the summer months, Hatfields continued to work on the finishing touches the store then required both internally and externally, following the building phase of the overall project. This constated of a new lawn being laid, lots of internal redecorating, new product lines and the implementation of new signage in and around the store. Hatfields became a hive of activity in the last few weeks of September to ensure that everything was completed in time for the grand launch on Saturday 5th October.

On the day of the grand relaunch, Hatfields’ loyal customers were invited into the store alongside the local community, where everyone was given the chance to win back their order up to the value of £5000! Plus, there were additional celebratory competitions in local news titles and online too.

In celebration of the relaunch, it seemed only right that there was something fizzy to toast the occasion, so arrival drinks were served by Millie and Jack from ‘One For The Road’ mobile bar, which is a beautifully converted horse box. Hatfields also provided pizzas for visitors via Redwood Stone Baked Ltd, which is a mobile food van in the form of a classic Citroen HY fire brigade van called ‘Little Red’. Customers were further treated by the musical talents of Mersea Island pianist, Ian Jewitt, whilst browsing through the store. Goody bags were given out on the day with lots of treats, including some tasty Tiptree samples from Wilkin & Sons Ltd. Further to the treats already mentioned, customers also enjoyed many special offers on the day itself.

At the grand relaunch, Hatfields were able to proudly unveil their new corporate logo for the first time, with signage in place and the logo applied to stationary and various areas within the store. The update incorporates the colour scheme of the redeveloped store front itself with greys, whites and a strong mid-blue. There is also a nod to the past with the new logo as the ‘i’ of Hatfields once again takes centre stage as the highlighted central character, being topped with a heart. The heart symbolises Hatfields’ passion for furniture and their desire for customers to love their homes.

If you’ve not already visited Hatfields in-store, you’ll discover an extensive range of quality furniture, beds, flooring and home accessory products, which are all displayed across 2 floors of beautifully designed showrooms. There are many ranges from top brands and selected stock lines too. The main buying focus is for Hatfields to offer their customers a choice of both classic and contemporary styles, to ensure there is something to suit every home.

The staff at Hatfields have been very excited about the redevelopment along with the corporate identity update and feel it shows Hatfields’ long term commitment to the future of the business with a significant investment being made. With over 133 years expertise and a loyal customer base, Hatfields are ensuring they do everything in their power to ensure the store is here to serve Colchester and the surrounding areas for the next 100 years.
